Say "d" with your child. Ask your child to circle every letter D and d in the rows below.

Exercise B: Look and Say
Point to each picture in the textbook (page 6). Your child says the word. Tick the box when your child says it.

Exercise C: Match the Word to the Picture
Say each word aloud. Your child draws a line from the word to the correct picture.

Exercise D: Colour the Duck
Draw a big duck outline in the box. Your child colours the beak orange.

Ask: "What is this?" Your child says "duck". Ask: "What does a duck say?" Your child says "quack".
Exercise E: Trace the Letter d
Curve round like a ball, then go up tall and straight down.

Print these rows in a dotted tracing font, with a red dot at the starting point of each letter.
Exercise F: Say the Chant
Say the chant to your child. Your child repeats it.
"d / d / dragonfly, d / d / drum, d / d / dog"
Now say the rhyme line together:
"d / d / duck makes a quack"
Ask:
- Who makes a quack? (the duck)
- How many little ducklings swim with the duck on page 6? (three)
