Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter W!

Look at the big red letters. This is big W. And this is small w. Can you say it with me? W, w!

The letter w makes a sound. It says w, w, w. Make your lips round like a little o, then open them. w, w, w. Very good!

Now look at the pictures. Here is a big green watermelon. And here is a slice. It is red inside with little black seeds. Can you say watermelon? Watermelon! Watermelon starts with w. w, w, watermelon.

Here is a watch with a yellow strap. A watch tells us the time. Tick, tock! Say watch. Watch!

Here is a grey wolf standing on a rock. A wolf can howl. Owooo! Say wolf. Wolf!

And look at all this blue water. Splash, splash! Say water. Water!

Let us say all our w words together. Watermelon. Watch. Wolf. Water. Great job!

Now I have a question for you. Are whales social animals? A whale is a very, very big animal that lives in the water. Social means it likes to be with friends and family. Do whales live together? Yes, they do! Whales live and swim together in groups. Whale starts with w too!

Now let us draw the letter w in the air. Hold up your finger. Start at the top. Slant down. Go up. Slant down again. And go up. That is w!

Let us do it again. Down, up, down, up. w! Well done!

Look at the bottom of the page. There is a little bird called a quail, and there is a watch. Which one starts with w? Watch! w, w, watch. Quail does not start with w. So we tick the watch.

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter w says w, w, w.

Watermelon, watch, wolf and water all start with w. And whales are social animals.
