Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter V!

Look at the big red letters. This is big V. And this is small v. Can you say it with me? V, v!

The letter v makes a sound. It says v, v, v. Put your top teeth on your bottom lip and buzz. v, v, v. Can you feel the buzz? Very good!

Now look at the pictures. Here is a big bird sitting on a rock. It has a yellow beak and big dark wings. This bird is a vulture. Can you say vulture? Vulture! Vulture starts with v. v, v, vulture.

Look at all these vegetables! There is a big orange pumpkin and lots of green leaves. Vegetables make us strong. Say vegetables. Vegetables!

Here is a red vase with yellow flowers in it. We put flowers in a vase. Say vase. Vase!

And look at this mountain. Hot red lava is coming out of the top! This is a volcano. Say volcano. Volcano!

Let us say all our v words together. Vulture. Vegetables. Vase. Volcano. Great job!

Now I have a question for you. What is the name of your favourite vegetable? Think of the one you like best. Tell your teacher your favourite vegetable. Yum!

Now let us draw the letter v in the air. Hold up your finger. Start at the top. Slant down to the bottom. Then slant back up to the top. That is v!

Let us do it again. Down, and up. v! Well done!

Look at the bottom of the page. There is a tree and a vase. Which one starts with v? Vase! v, v, vase. Tree does not start with v. So we draw a circle round the vase.

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter v says v, v, v.

Vulture, vegetables, vase and volcano all start with v.
