• Recognise the big "U" and the small "u" and say the sound /u/
• Recall the words utensils, umbrella, uniform and Uranus
• Remember that Urdu is a language that begins with "U"
• Pick out the umbrella as the picture that begins with "U"

Revision Activity 1: Umbrella Pass

Time: 5 minutes

• Sit in a circle and pass a closed umbrella around
• When a learner holds the umbrella, they say "umbrella" and the sound /u/
• Keep going until everyone has had a turn

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 27 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: utensils, umbrella, uniform, Uranus
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Touch Your Uniform

Time: 3 minutes

• Say "uniform" and learners touch their own uniform
• Say "umbrella" and learners make an umbrella over their heads with their arms
• Say "Uranus" and learners make a big round planet with their arms

Revision Activity 4: Do You Know?

Time: 4 minutes

• Ask: "Which language begins with U?"
• Learners say "Urdu"
• Say together: "/u/ /u/ Urdu"

Revision Activity 5: Thumbs Up for u

Time: 5 minutes

• Say a word; learners show a thumbs up if it starts with /u/
• Use: umbrella, tomato, uniform, utensils, Uranus, Urdu
• Thumbs down for tomato

Revision Activity 6: Air and Finger Tracing

Time: 5 minutes

• Draw a big "u" in the air together: start at the top, go down, curve round, go back up, then a short line down
• Let learners run a finger over the big pink "Uu" on page 27
