Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter R!

Look at this big red letter. This is big R, and this is small r. Can you say it with me? R!

The letter R makes a sound. It says r, r, r. It sounds like a little growl. Say it with me. r, r, r. Very good!

Now look at the pictures. Here is a boy running very fast on a track. He is a runner! Can you say runner? Runner! Runner starts with R. r, r, runner. Run on the spot with me. Run, run, run!

Here is a rooster. It has a red comb on its head and a long green tail. The rooster wakes everyone up in the morning. Say rooster. Rooster! r, r, rooster.

Look at this shiny yellow car. It is a racing car! It goes very, very fast. Vroom, vroom! Say racing car. Racing car! r, r, racing car.

And here is a refrigerator. The door is open, and it is full of food and bottles. A refrigerator keeps our food cold. Say refrigerator. Refrigerator! r, r, refrigerator.

Let us say all our R words together. Runner. Rooster. Racing car. Refrigerator. Great job!

Now I have a question for you. Which river of Pakistan begins with R? It flows past the city of Lahore. It is the river Ravi! r, r, Ravi. Say it with me. Ravi!

Now let us play a game. I will show you two pictures. One is a rooster and one is a quail. Which one begins with R? Rooster! r, r, rooster. Quail begins with kw. In your book, draw a circle round the rooster.

Let us draw the big R in the air with our finger. Go straight down. Go back up to the top. Go round to the middle. Now kick out a leg. That is big R!

Now the small r. Go straight down. Go back up, and make a small curve over. That is small r!

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter R says r, r, r. Runner, rooster, racing car and refrigerator all start with R. And the river Ravi starts with R too!

You did a super job today, little friends! See you next time! Bye-bye!
