• Recognise the capital and small letter "Rr" and say the sound /r/
• Recall the words runner, rooster, racing car and refrigerator
• Name the river of Pakistan that begins with "R"
• Pick the picture that begins with "R"

Revision Activity 1: Growling R

Time: 4 minutes

• Hold up the "R" card. Learners say /r/ like a little growl
• Hold up the "r" card and do it again
• Say together: "R says /r/"

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 6 minutes

• Open page 23
• Say a word and learners point to it: runner, rooster, racing car, refrigerator
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Run, Crow, Drive

Time: 5 minutes

• Call out a word from the page:
  • runner: run on the spot
  • rooster: flap and crow
  • racing car: steer and say "vroom"
  • refrigerator: open a pretend door
• Learners do the action and say the word

Revision Activity 4: River Quiz

Time: 3 minutes

• Ask: "Which river of Pakistan begins with 'R'?"
• Learners say "Ravi" and make wavy river arms

Revision Activity 5: Rooster or Quail

Time: 6 minutes

• Show the rooster and the quail from page 23
• Say "rooster". Learners give a thumbs up for /r/
• Say "quail". Learners give a thumbs down and say "/q/"
• Learners encircle the rooster on a fresh sheet

Revision Activity 6: Air Writing

Time: 3 minutes

• Draw a big "R" in the air together: straight down, back to the top, round to the middle, kick out a leg
• Draw a small "r": straight down, back up, a small curve over
