Revision Objectives

• Recognise the capital and small letter "Oo" and say the sound /o/
• Recall the words orange, owl, onion and octopus
• Name the colour that begins with "O"
• Pick the picture that begins with "O"

Revision Activity 1: Round Mouths

Time: 4 minutes

• Hold up the "O" card. Learners make a round mouth and say /o/
• Make an "O" with both hands, then with one finger in the air
• Say together: "O says /o/"

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 6 minutes

• Open page 19
• Say a word and learners point to it: orange, owl, onion, octopus
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Owl and Octopus

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners make big owl eyes with their fingers and say "owl"
• Learners wave their arms like an octopus and say "octopus"
• Call out "owl" or "octopus" quickly; learners do the right action

Revision Activity 4: Orange Hunt

Time: 4 minutes

• Ask: "Name the colour which begins with 'O'."
• Learners say "orange" and find one orange thing in the classroom
• Each learner holds it up and says "orange"

Revision Activity 5: Colour Check

Time: 6 minutes

• Show the orange and the bus outlines from page 19
• Say "orange". Learners give a thumbs up for /o/
• Say "bus". Learners give a thumbs down
• Learners colour an orange outline on a fresh sheet

Revision Activity 6: Air Writing

Time: 3 minutes

• Draw a big "O" in the air together: start at the top and go all the way round
• Draw a small "o" the same way, but smaller
