Revision Objectives

• Recognise "Mm" and say its sound /m/
• Recall the words moon, mop, motorbike and map
• Remember that the mango is called the king of fruits
• Pick the picture that begins with "M"

Revision Activity 1: Yummy /m/

Time: 4 minutes

• Close your lips and hum /m/ together
• Rub your tummies and say "mmm"
• Hum it softly, then loudly, then in a whisper

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 17 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: moon, mop, motorbike, map
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Action Words

Time: 5 minutes

• Call out a word and learners do the action:
  • moon: make a curved moon shape with both arms
  • mop: mop the floor
  • motorbike: twist pretend handles and say "vroom"
  • map: open a pretend map wide

Revision Activity 4: King of Fruits

Time: 4 minutes

• Ask: "Which fruit is called the king of fruits?"
• Learners say "mango"
• Ask: "What sound does mango start with?" (/m/)
• Pass a real mango round if you have one

Revision Activity 5: M or Not M?

Time: 5 minutes

• Hold up the map and the lantern pictures from the bottom of page 17
• Learners say "mmm" for the picture that starts with /m/ and stay quiet for the one that does not
• Repeat with moon, mop and motorbike mixed with the lantern

Revision Activity 6: Air and Sand Letters

Time: 4 minutes

• Draw a big "M" in the air together: up, down to the middle, up again, and straight down
• Let learners draw "M" with a finger in a sand tray or on the board
