Revision Objectives

• Recognise "Ll" and say its sound /l/
• Recall the words ladybug, lunch box, lipstick and lantern
• Remember that the lion is the king of the forest
• Join the pictures that begin with "L" to the letter

Revision Activity 1: Singing /l/

Time: 4 minutes

• Put the tip of the tongue up behind the top teeth
• Sing /l/ together like a song: /l/ /l/ /l/
• Sing it softly, then loudly, then in a whisper

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 16 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: ladybug, lunch box, lipstick, lantern
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Lunch Box Pass

Time: 5 minutes

• Pass a real lunch box around the circle
• When a learner holds it, they say "/l/ /l/ lunch box"
• Then pass round a picture of the lantern and the ladybug in the same way

Revision Activity 4: King of the Forest

Time: 3 minutes

• Ask: "Which animal is the king of the forest?"
• Learners say "lion" and give a big roar
• Ask: "What sound does lion start with?" (/l/)

Revision Activity 5: Join to L

Time: 6 minutes

• Draw a big "L" in the middle of the board with four pictures around it: lunch box, jug, lantern, kettle
• A volunteer draws a line from each "L" picture to the letter
• Ask the class: "Is the jug an L word?" (no, it starts with j) "Is the kettle an L word?" (no, it starts with k)

Revision Activity 6: Air and Sand Letters

Time: 4 minutes

• Draw a big "L" in the air together: go straight down, then go across at the bottom
• Let learners draw "L" with a finger in a sand tray or on the board
