Revision Objectives

• Recognise "Kk" and say its sound /k/
• Recall the words kingfisher, kettle, keys and kiwi
• Name a city of Pakistan that begins with "K"
• Pick and encircle the picture that begins with "K"

Revision Activity 1: Key Pass

Time: 5 minutes

• Sit in a circle and pass a bunch of real keys around
• When a learner holds the keys, they jingle them and say "/k/ /k/ keys"
• Keep going until everyone has had a turn

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 15 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: kingfisher, kettle, keys, kiwi
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Action Words

Time: 4 minutes

• Call out a word and learners do the action:
  • kingfisher: flap and dive like a bird
  • kettle: make a spout with one arm
  • keys: turn a pretend key in a lock
  • kiwi: pretend to cut a fruit in half

Revision Activity 4: City Clap

Time: 3 minutes

• Ask: "Which city of Pakistan begins with 'K'?"
• Learners say "Karachi" and clap the word: Ka-ra-chi

Revision Activity 5: Encircle It

Time: 5 minutes

• Draw a kettle and an iguana on the board
• A volunteer draws a big circle around the picture that begins with "K"
• Ask the class: "Is it right?" Learners show thumbs up
• Ask: "What does iguana start with?" (/i/)

Revision Activity 6: Air and Sand Letters

Time: 4 minutes

• Draw a big "K" in the air together: one line down, then a slanting line in and a slanting line out
• Let learners draw "K" with a finger in a sand tray or on the board
