Video Script -- Lesson 10
Letter Jj
Subject: English | Class: Nursery | Series: Leeds
Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter J!
Look at the big red letters. This is big J, and this is small j. Small j has a little dot on top. Can you say it with me? J!
The letter J makes a jumpy sound. It says j, j, j. Stand up and jump each time you say it. j, j, j. Very good!
Now let us look at the pictures. Every picture begins with J.
Here is a jet. It flies fast, high up in the sky. Put your arms out like wings and zoom! Say jet. Jet! Jet starts with j. j, j, jet.
Here is a jellyfish. It is purple, and it has long, wavy legs. Wave your fingers like a jellyfish. Say jellyfish. Jellyfish! j, j, jellyfish.
Here is the word jaguar. A jaguar is a big wild cat. Make your hands into paws and run on the spot. Say jaguar. Jaguar! j, j, jaguar.
And here is a jeep. It is orange, with big strong wheels. Hold your steering wheel and drive. Brrm, brrm! Say jeep. Jeep! j, j, jeep.
Let us say all our J words together. Jet. Jellyfish. Jaguar. Jeep. Great job!
Now I have a question for you. What is the name of our national animal? Think, think. It is the Markhor! Say Markhor. The Markhor has long twisty horns, and it lives high up in the mountains of Pakistan.
Now let us play a game. I will show you two pictures. One is a jeep and one is an apple. Which one starts with j? Listen. Jeep. Apple. Yes, jeep starts with j! Apple starts with a. So we colour the jeep. Choose your favourite colour!
Let us draw J in the air with our finger. Go straight down, then curve round at the bottom like a hook. That is big J! For small j, go down, curve round, and put a dot on top. Dot!
Let us remember what we learned today. The letter J says j, j, j. Jet, jellyfish, jaguar and jeep all start with J. And our national animal is the Markhor.
You did a super job today, little friends! Keep saying j, j, j. See you next time! Bye-bye!
