Revision Objectives

• Recognise "Jj" and say its sound /j/
• Recall the words jet, jellyfish, jaguar and jeep
• Remember that our national animal is the Markhor
• Pick the picture that begins with "J"

Revision Activity 1: Jump for /j/

Time: 4 minutes

• Learners stand up
• Each time you say /j/, they jump once and say it back
• Say it softly, then loudly, then in a whisper

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 12 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: jet, jellyfish, jaguar, jeep
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Action Words

Time: 5 minutes

• Call out a word and learners do the action:
  • jet: arms out like wings, zoom
  • jellyfish: wave fingers down like soft legs
  • jaguar: make paws and run on the spot
  • jeep: hold a pretend steering wheel

Revision Activity 4: Our National Animal

Time: 4 minutes

• Ask: "What is the name of our national animal?"
• Learners say "Markhor" and clap the word
• Learners put their hands up on their heads like long horns

Revision Activity 5: J or Not J?

Time: 5 minutes

• Hold up the jeep and the apple pictures from the bottom of page 12
• Learners jump for the picture that starts with /j/ and sit still for the one that does not
• Repeat with jet, jellyfish and jaguar mixed with the apple

Revision Activity 6: Air and Sand Letters

Time: 4 minutes

• Draw a big "J" in the air together: go down, then curve round at the bottom like a hook
• Draw a small "j": go down, curve round, then put a dot on top
• Let learners draw both with a finger in a sand tray or on the board
