Video Script -- Lesson 9
Letter Ii
Subject: English | Class: Nursery | Series: Leeds
Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter I!
Look at the big red letters. This is big I. It is one straight line. And this is small i. It has a little dot on top. Can you say it with me? I!
The letter I makes a short, quick sound. It says i, i, i. Give a little smile and say it with me. i, i, i. Very good!
Now let us look at the pictures. Every picture begins with I.
Here is an impala. It has two long horns on its head. Put two fingers on your head like horns. Say impala. Impala! Impala starts with i. i, i, impala.
Here is an insect. It is long and green, and it crawls along a little stick. Wriggle your finger like the insect. Say insect. Insect! i, i, insect.
Here is an iron. We use an iron to make our clothes smooth. Move your hand forward and back. Say iron. Iron! Iron starts with I.
And here is an iguana. It is green with a long, long tail. Say iguana. Iguana! i, i, iguana.
Let us say all our I words together. Impala. Insect. Iron. Iguana. Great job!
Now I have a question for you. Is the impala a pet or a wild animal? Can an impala live in your house? No! The impala is a wild animal. It lives out in the open grassland.
Now let us play a game. I will show you two pictures. One is a fly and one is an iron. Which one starts with I? Listen. Fly. Iron. Yes, iron starts with I! Fly starts with f. So we tick the iron. Well done!
Let us draw I in the air with our finger. Big I is easy. Just go straight down. For small i, go down a little, then put a dot on top. Dot! That is the letter I!
Let us remember what we learned today. The letter I says i, i, i. Impala, insect, iron and iguana all start with I. And the impala is a wild animal.
You did a super job today, little friends! Keep saying i, i, i. See you next time! Bye-bye!
