Revision Objectives

• Recognise "Hh" and say its sound /h/
• Recall the words hive, hen, helicopter and hook
• Remember the answer to "Do hens lay eggs round the year?"
• Pick the picture that begins with "H"

Revision Activity 1: Feel the /h/

Time: 4 minutes

• Learners hold a hand in front of their mouths
• Say /h/ together and feel the warm air
• Say it softly, then loudly, then in a whisper

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 10 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: hive, hen, helicopter, hook
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: Action Words

Time: 5 minutes

• Call out a word and learners do the action:
  • helicopter: spin arms over the head
  • hen: flap elbows like wings
  • hook: bend a finger like a hook
  • hive: make a round shape with both arms
• Ask: "What sound does it start with?" after each one; learners say /h/

Revision Activity 4: Hen Question

Time: 4 minutes

• Ask: "Do hens lay eggs round the year?"
• Learners show thumbs up for yes
• Say together: "Yes! Hens lay eggs all through the year."

Revision Activity 5: H or Not H?

Time: 5 minutes

• Hold up the hook and the apple pictures from the bottom of page 10
• Learners stand up for the picture that starts with /h/ and sit down for the one that does not
• Repeat with hen, helicopter and hive mixed with the apple

Revision Activity 6: Air and Sand Letters

Time: 4 minutes

• Draw a big "H" in the air together: one line down, another line down, then a line across the middle
• Let learners draw "H" with a finger in a sand tray or on the board
