Hello, little friends! Welcome back to our English lesson. Let us remember our letters. A says a, a, a. B says b, b, b. C says c, c, c. Well done!

Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter D!

Look at this big red letter. This is big D. And this is small d. Can you say it with me? D!

The letter D makes a sound. Put your tongue behind your top teeth and tap. d, d, d. Say it with me. d, d, d. Very good!

Now let us look at some pictures that begin with D.

Look at this dragonfly. It has long wings that you can see through. Buzz, buzz! Say dragonfly. Dragonfly! Dragonfly starts with D. d, d, dragonfly.

Here is a big green dinosaur. Stomp, stomp, roar! Say dinosaur. Dinosaur! d, d, dinosaur.

Look at this doll. She has red hair and a pink dress. She is sitting on a shelf. Say doll. Doll! d, d, doll.

And here is a little yellow duckling. A duckling is a baby duck. Quack, quack! Say duckling. Duckling!

Let us say all our D words together. Dragonfly. Dinosaur. Doll. Duckling. Great job!

Now the boy in the hat has a question for you. Name a non-living thing which begins with D. Non-living things do not eat or grow. A dragonfly is living. A duckling is living. But a doll is non-living! And doll begins with D. Clever you!

Now it is time for a little game. Look at the bottom of the page. There is a big pink D in the middle. On one side there is a cane. Do you remember the cane? On the other side there is a dinosaur.

Does cane start with D? Cane. No! Cane starts with c. Does dinosaur start with D? d, d, dinosaur. Yes! So we put a tick under the dinosaur.

Let us draw the letter D in the air. Hold up your finger. A straight line down. Then go back to the top and make a big round tummy. That is big D! Well done!

Let us remember what we learned today. The letter D says d, d, d. Dragonfly, dinosaur, doll and duckling all start with D. And a doll is a non-living thing.
