Revision Objectives

• Recognise the capital "B" and small "b" and say the sound /b/
• Recall the words baby, banana, bus and book
• Pick the picture that begins with "B" (balloon, not apple)

Revision Activity 1: Pop the /b/

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners press their lips together and pop out the sound /b/
• Say each word with a big pop: "/b/ baby, /b/ banana, /b/ bus, /b/ book"
• Let learners take turns leading the popping

Revision Activity 2: Point and Say

Time: 5 minutes

• Open page 4 or hold up picture cards
• Say a word and learners point to it: baby, banana, bus, book
• Then swap: you point, learners say the word
• Clap once for every correct answer

Revision Activity 3: School Bus Ride

Time: 5 minutes

• Learners line up behind you to make a school bus
• As the bus drives round the room, call out a word. If it starts with /b/, the bus says "Beep beep!" If not, the bus stops
• Use the page words and the activity words: baby, banana, bus, book, balloon, apple

Revision Activity 4: Balloon or Apple?

Time: 5 minutes

• Hold up the balloon and apple outlines from page 4
• Ask: "Which one starts with /b/?" Learners point to the balloon
• Ask: "What does apple start with?" Learners say /a/

Revision Activity 5: Big B, Small b

Time: 5 minutes

• Write "B" and "b" large on the board next to "A" and "a"
• Learners draw each letter in the air with a finger
• Call a learner to point: "Show me big B. Show me small b."
