Hello, little friends! Welcome to our English lesson. Today we are going to meet a new letter. It is the letter A!

Look at this big red letter. This is big A. And this is small a. They are the same letter. Can you say it with me? A!

The letter A makes a sound. It says a, a, a. Open your mouth wide and say it with me. a, a, a. Very good!

Now let us look at some pictures. Every one of them begins with A.

Look up in the sky. What is flying? It is an aeroplane! Zoom, zoom! Say aeroplane. Aeroplane! Aeroplane starts with A. a, a, aeroplane.

Here is a green alligator. It has a big smile and lots of teeth. Snap, snap! Say alligator. Alligator! Alligator starts with A too.

Look at this big, red, shiny apple. Someone has cut a piece of it. Yum, yum! Say apple. Apple! a, a, apple.

And here is an ambulance. It is white and red. An ambulance helps people who are sick. Nee-naw, nee-naw! Say ambulance. Ambulance!

Let us say all our A words together. Aeroplane. Alligator. Apple. Ambulance. Great job!

Now the boy in the hat has a question for you. Name another fruit which begins with A. Hmm. Which fruit did we see on this page? Yes, the apple! Can you think of another fruit that begins with A? Tell your teacher!

Now it is time for a little game. Look at the box at the bottom of the page. There is a pink A. Next to it there is an apple and a cake.

Does apple start with A? a, a, apple. Yes! Put a tick on the apple.

Does cake start with A? Cake. No, cake does not start with A. So no tick for the cake.

Let us draw the letter A in the air. Hold up your finger. Go up the hill, down the hill, and a line across the middle. That is big A! Well done!
